I have a pretty fun job. On Sunday night, father son duo Jim and Paxson tried a new bike set-up on Mt. Tam. Meerkat Chat I met them with my twelve-year-old son, who videotaped and edited all our footage, and my two-year-old son who rode like a boss down Diaz Ridge on his Starfish. We had smoothies together after.
The Plus size tires on the Meerkat proved crazy fun. I realize as I write this that four of us took turns pumping the bike into turns and jumping over rocks and we didn’t have any flats. Good thing because I didn’t bring back up tubes. The kids had fun. With their parents!
And, that seems like a decent place to begin with Cleary Bikes. I had a light bulb moment when I first thought of a line of kids’ bikes – and I was with my kids when I had it. Kids have always been the most important part of our bikes. If you see me running toward your child one day, please don’t be alarmed. I introduce myself to every kid I see riding on one of our bikes. They usually ignore me, but I get a huge charge out of it.
As this marks the first of our new regularly scheduled posts, I’m committing now to share in my next post my light bulb moment. Hopefully, I do see you on the trail and you’re not alarmed. Maybe you’re even cruising along on Plus tires.
